Five Weeks - PCT 2024

I received my 5 week email from the PCTA. Five weeks until the start of an epic journey of a lifetime! Five weeks until it’s one foot in front of the other as I take off down the trail. I’m excited. Beyond excited!! It’s right around the corner. But the nerves are setting in. 

Can I do this?! I’m not your “typical” hiker but hoo boy, do I ever love it outside. 

Have I saved enough money?! It costs a lot of money to complete a thru hike. 

Will my animals be okay without me?! Bestie will love them for me while I’m away. 

Will my job be the same when I return?! My work project is ending, but I have a supportive team. 

You get the idea… 

The thing is, I CAN’T wait. I’m like a little kid waiting for Christmas morning. I’m walking more. I’m sorting through my gear. I’m planning my resupply. I probably talk about the PCT WAY too much to anyone who will listen. There are so many unknowns. So much promise. Will it be easy? Heck no. But I’m excited for the challenge. I’m excited to face new obstacles. To be one with nature and out there, somewhere in the wilderness, figuring it all out.
