Day 16 - Double Zero in Idyllwild - PCT 2024

I’ll keep this update short and sweet. Relaxing in Idyllwild on our double zero. We’re hitting the mountain tomorrow so trying to make the most of our town days! I’m being a bit bougie in Idyllwild, which is a treat to myself for making it this far. I went for a massage today and that was delightful! Eating all the delicious food. I did my resupply which was a challenge because we don’t actually know how far we can make it. When we get on the mountain, conditions might be too treacherous to continue and we might have to bail down a side trail, or, we might luck out (the option we are hoping for) that we can push through to the other side of San Jacinto. We wanted to be adequately prepared for all scenarios which means a heavy food carry. This is a section I’d rather have too much than not enough. 

We got to meet Mayor Max! He’s a cutie! 🥰 He’s definitely got my vote!

The four of us, Failure to Launch, Snax, Roamer and I went out for dinner at the Lumber Mill and then came back to the cabin to relax with a fire in the fireplace and some wine. I even took a dip in the hot tub. 

It was a great day but it’ll be good to get back on trail tomorrow!
